(Tuesday, March 21, 2006) -- United States midfielder Claudio Reyna's injury woes continue. The American captain, who has been battling an ankle prolem for the last three months, injured his left shoulder and will miss three-to-four weeks, his English Premier League club Manchester City said today.

Reyna, who recently started three games after missing more than two months with an ankle injury, limped off the field in the 66th minute of Manchester City's 1-0 loss to visiting Wigan Saturday.

Reyna, who had been playing at the end of 2005 on a sore right ankle, had surgery December 30 to repair a fracture of a small bone in the back of the ankle after a CT scan revealed the problem.

Reyna was out for almost nine weeks, missing nine league games and three FA Cup matches. He returned in a 2-1 victory March 5 victory over Sunderland and also started in a 2-1 setback to Portsmouth six days later, but did not dress for City's 2-1 triumph over Aston Villa last Tuesday in the FA Cup fifth round.

Last night, he was obviously unavailable as City was bounced from the FA Cup quarterfinals 2-1 by West Ham United.

Meanwhile in the Netherlands, U.S. midfielder DaMarcus Beasley has been deemed "doubtful" by PSV Eindhoven for its Gatorade Cup semifinal Wednesday night at home with AZ Alkmaar.

Beasley has a sore Achilles tendon after taking a knock in practice. He will be tested before the match tomorrow to determine his fitness.
