Altidore records pair of goals, Alkmaar ties Ajax 2-2.

(Monday, August 13, 2012) -- United States striker Jozy Altidore scored a pair of sensational goals to help AZ Alkmaar to a 2-2 draw with host Ajax Amsterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie in front of a full house ArenA.
After Ajax had taken a halftime lead on an early goal, Altidore took the ball on the left side, raced into the penalty area and let loose a blast that beat the goalkeeper high to the far side.
Just two minutes later, Altidore was on the receiving end of a give-and-go. Closely marked by two defenders, he used hos shoulder to touch the ball to his right, giving himself enough room to blast the ball home.
Altidore came out in the 84th minute, replaced by a defensive midfielder a minute after Ajax had leveled the score at 2-2.
In Sweden, American midfielder Alejandro Bedoya, newly arrived from Scotland and FC Rangers, did not dress dor Helsingborgs IF in its 7-2 victory over Kalmar FF.
In making the move, Bedoya will have a chance at European Champions League play as Helsingborg will meet Rangers' former Glasgow arch-rival Celtic in the final qualification round, starting on August 21.

American forward Chad Barrett had a big day for his new Norwegian club Vålerenga, contributing a pair of assists in a 3-1 win over Odd Grenland.

Parkhurst set up the first goal on a through pass from the back in the third minute and scored himself just three minutes later.

Media reports say that Forest is interested in selling Findley.
In Germany's second-division 2. Bundesliga, 19-year-old central defender John Anthony Brooks, a German American born and raised in Germany and a product of the Hertha Berlin youth system, went the distance in a 3-1 loss to FSV Frankfurt.
German-American defender-midfielder Alfredo Morales, of Peruvian descent, did not dress for Hertha. The match came a week after Hertha failed to win promotion to the Bundesliga, losing a series to Fortuna Düsseldorf 4-3 on aggregate.
