NPSL / National Professional Soccer League Championship
Prior to 1985, the NPSL was preceded by the AISA (American Indoor Soccer Association). With the exception of a Challenge Cup held in 1988, championships have been determined by a series of games. From 1985-1987 and 1989-1994, the championship was decided as a best of 5 contest. From 1995-1999, it has been a best of 7 contest. Since 2000, a best of 5 series.
