CONCACAF United States semifinal qualifying group will be finalized on June 17.(Thursday, May 25, 2000) -- CONCACAF, the region of North America, Central America and the Carribean, has announced the matchups to determine the last three participants in the semifinal round of qualifying for the 2002 World Cup.In the two-leg, home-and-home aggregate goal elimination format, Canada will take on Cuba, Antigua & Barbuda will face Guatemala, and Haiti will match up against Honduras. The winner of the Antigua & Barbuda-Guatemala series will advance into the United States' group for semifinal play. These "interzone" match-ups will take place over the first three weekends in June. The winners advance the semifinal round which begins in mid-July. Interzone Match Schedule (all times Eastern) Group 1 June 4 - Canada at Cuba, Estadio Pedro Marrero, Havana 4 p.m.
Group 2 June 11 - Guatemala at Antigua\Barbuda, Antigua Recreation Ground, St. John's, 4 p.m.
Group 3 June 3 - Haiti at Honduras, Estadio Francisco Morazan, San Pedro Sula, 7:30 p.m.
