Before attending her first class at Michigan State, Lauren Hill found her way into the Spartans' record book. By becomiing the first MSU women's player in 19 years to score four goals in a game -- and the first fresham ever -- in a 4-2 road win Sunday at Central Michigan, her eight points tied a school record held by two others.

Hill, who began classes in East Lansing on Monday, had MSU on the board less than four minutes into her first college road game, put her team ahead for good 2-1 in the seventh minute and then added tallies to make it 3-1 in the 14th minute and 4-2 in the 42nd. Hill scored once off a breakaway, headed in another goal, and converted two others off nice feeds from teammates. She put a fifth ball into the net, but it was negated by an offside call.

In her first game, she had one assist in the Spartans 3-2 home loss to Central Michigan Friday.
