U.S. under-19 women
CHIANG MAI, Thailand (November 21, 2004) - Second-half goals by striker Amy Rodriguez and and midfielder Megan Rapinoe, plus a stifling defense that did not allow a shot on goal, led the United States to a 2-0 victory over Australia in the quarterfinals of the Under-19 Women's World Championship. The defending champion U.S. advanced to a semifinal meeting Wednesday with Germany.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Wednesday, November 17, 2004) -- The U.S. began and ended its successful CONCACAF Semifinal World Cup Qualifying round playing 1-1 draws with Jamaica. There was little similarity with the matches. After being lucky to escape Kingston August 18 with a point in the standings, a relatively inexperienced American lineup played Jamaica even tonight in Columbus, Ohio, ending the visitors run to the 2006 World Cup.

United's 4-3 edge over the New England Revolution in a tiebreaker after the two teams played a thrilling 3-3 draw through 120 minutes in the Major League Soccer Eastern Division title match. United will face the Kansas Cityy Wizards in the MLS Cup final.
