(Sunday, September 26, 1999) -- Striker Bobby Convey scored twice and midfielder Kyle Beckerman added another goal as the United States defeated Paraguay in a meeting of under-17 men's national teams before 500 at Bollettieri Academy.The U.S. is undefeated in its last 16 outings and will play Paraguay here again on Tuesday. Beckerman's tally, assisted by Abe Thompson, put the U.S. ahead 2-1 in the 70th minute. Convey closed the deal three minutes later, also assisted by Thompson, making it 3-1. Convey put the U.S. ahead 1-0 with an unassisted goal in the 16th minute. Paraguay tied it at 1-1 in the 53d minute.
