Portugal wins 1-0 on 65th-minute penalty.

ALVERCA, Portugal (Tuesday, January 25, 2000) -- Hugo Lealís penalty kick in the 65th minute lifted Portugal to a 1-0 decision over the United States under-23 (Olympic) men tonight

The lone goal came as the result of a foul called against American defender Chad McCarty, who took down a Portugese player in the box.

The final 35 minutes were played at 10 men a side after American Conor Casey and Portugalís captain Caneira were ejected for an altercation.

Next up on the U.S. tour of Portugal are club matches Thursday against Estoril of Portuguese first division and Sunday against Offenbach of the German second division.
