The U.S. is 2-0 in Group C with a match against Taiwan Wednesday before the quarterfinals start next Sunday. A victory or draw in that game would clinch first place in the group and ensure that the Americans would stay in Victoria for their quarterfinal against a third-place team from Group A or Group B. England (1-1) recorded a 4-0 decision over Taiwan (0-2) in tonight's other Group C match The U.S. pounded away at the Australians (1-1) throughout the match, but Wilson's goal off a header in the 14th minute was the only scoring until the Americans added three late tallies within a eight-minute span. In the 74th minute, Osborne settled a cross from O'Reilly with a chest trap and touched it past goalkeeper Luisa Marzotto from three yards out. Five minutes later, Wilson bent a free kick into the lower left corner from 20 yards out.
