PHOENIX (Sunday, July 26, 1998) -- Lindsey Griffin, Sarah-Gayle Swanson and Camile Flenniken scored after intermission to give the Colorado Rush of Littleton a 3-0 triumph over J.B. Marine of St. Louis and the United States Youth Soccer National Championships’ Laura Moynihan Cup for under-17 girls.

It was the first girls national championship for Colorado State Youth Soccer Association.

After 51 scoreless minutes, Lindsey Griffin sailed in a shot from outside the penalty area for a 1-0 lead.

Sarah-Gayle Swanson scored an unassisted goal for the Far West champion in the 77th minute, followed by Camile Flenniken's penalty kick nine minutes later.

Marine outshot Colorado 14-12, but Rush goalkeeper Kelly Conway still recorded the shutout.
