The Alka Superliga was founded in 1991 and the country in which all domestic games are played is Denmark, the confederation for this league is UEFA and in total there are 14 individual football teams playing in that league, which is the number one level on the pyramid of leagues.

Lyngby BK managed to finish 3rd in this league last season, which is very impressive when you realise they were only recently promoted into it in 2016–17.

OB could only manage to finish 8th in this league last season however they have been playing in this top tier league since thy were promoted into it back in the 1999–00 season.

Randers FC finished last season in 7th positions and have a history of being in this league since 1988 but more recently they were promoted into it in 2009–10.

Silkeborg IF ended last season in 9th position in this league and they were promoted into it form the league below it back in the 2016–17 season.

SønderjyskE finished a very respectable 6th in this league last season and they were promoted into it at the start of the 2008–09 season.

FC Helsingør were promoted into this top tier league at the start of the season having ended last season in 3rd position in Division One which is very impressive a final position to have achieved.
