Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea look to continue perfect starts this weekend

|

The Premier League campaign has reached gameweek four. Already we have enjoyed a bucket full of goals and some controversy too. Here are the games taking place this weekend in the English top-flight:

Leicester v Liverpool (Saturday, Kick-off 12:30 PM)

On Saturday, Liverpool will put their perfect Premier League record to the test when they visit Leicester in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Leicester have recovered well from their opening weekend defeat against Manchester United by recording three straight wins in all competitions. Last time out the Foxes hammered lower league Fleetwood 4-0 in the Carabao Cup. Saturday’s visitors are a completely different level of opposition.

Liverpool have won all three of their top-flight games so far this season, having kept clean sheets in the process. The Reds good start to the campaign sees them sit top of the fledgeling top-flight table.

The visitors certainly have the quality to see off the home side. However, Jurgen Klopp’s team were not great in the second half of the 1-0 home win over Brighton last time out, so the Foxes may fancy their chances of pulling off a victory.

Prediction

Over 2.5 goals

Chelsea v Bournemouth (Saturday, kick-off 3 PM)

Chelsea and Bournemouth are two of the Premier League’s unbeaten teams heading into this Saturday’s encounter at Stamford Bridge.

Under new boss Maurizio Sarri, the Blues have recorded three consecutive league wins, which sees the team from the capital sit in third place in the early season table. The home side has scored at least two goals in all three of their wins so far this season. However, they have looked vulnerable in defence.

Rather unusually for Chelsea, their record at Stamford Bridge has been inconsistent of late, as they have won just four of their last nine league games on home soil.

Prediction

Home win

Watford v Tottenham (Sunday kick-off, 4 PM)

Another two of the Premier League’s unbeaten sides go head-to-head at Vicarage Road on Sunday afternoon, as Watford host Tottenham.

The home side’s early Premier League form has come as a major surprise, as the Hornets have a hundred per cent record after three games of the campaign. Javi Gracia’s side has now also won their last four games in all competitions after a midweek 2-0 win at Reading in the Carabao Cup.

The Hornets have a very strong recent record at Vicarage Road in the top-flight, winning six of their last nine games on their own patch in the league.

Tottenham’s hundred per cent record is rather less surprising considering their levels of consistency in recent seasons. The visitors have already seen off the challenges of Newcastle, Fulham and Manchester United in the top-flight this season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s team have been difficult to beat on their travels of late in the top-flight, as they have suffered just one defeat from their last 12 away games in the Premier League.

Prediction

Away win

This weekend’s other Premier League games:

Saturday

Brighton v Fulham 3 PM

Crystal Palace v Southampton 3 PM

Everton v Huddersfield 3 PM

West Ham v Wolves 3 PM

Manchester City v Newcastle 5:30 PM

Sunday

Cardiff v Arsenal 1:30 PM

Burnley v Manchester United 4 PM

Which of this weekend’s Premier League games will produce the biggest drama?
