Prediction and odds for the game: Monaco (11/2) v PSG (2/5)

We are backing the over 3.5 goals scored at odds of 8/11

When: Wednesday 15th January 2020, Kick-off 8 PM

Where: The Stade Louis ll

Just days after the reverse fixture, Monaco host PSG at the Stade Louis ll in Ligue One. If this clash is as good as the weekend meeting in Paris, we are in for a treat.

Monaco

The 3-3 draw at the Parc des Princes continued Monaco’s recent promising form, which has seen Robert Moreno’s team on a five-game unbeaten run in the French top-flight. The home sides recent good form has left them just three points outside the European spots in Ligue One.

Monaco’s attacking prowess has been key to that recent improvement in form, as they have found the net at least twice in four of their last five league outings. Star striker Wissam Ben Yedder has been in lethal form this season, scoring 14 times in 17 Ligue One appearances, including in the reverse fixture.

The home side has been in good form at the Stade Louis ll of late, as they have recorded six straight league wins while scoring at least twice in five of their six home victories.

PSG

Despite the weekend draw, Thomas Tuchel’s visitors will be confident of pulling off another victory in this game. The Parisians are still four points clear of the chasing Marseille, with a game in-hand, so the weekend draw is unlikely to derail their title bid.

The draw did end a six-game winning run for Tuchel’s team, though. Therefore, they will be keen to get back to winning ways as soon as they can in Ligue One.

Unsurprisingly for a team that contains Neymar, Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe and Marco Icardi, the reigning champions are the highest scorers in the French top-flight. The visitors have also netted at least twice in ten of their last 11 outings in Ligue One.

The visitors have a pretty good recent away record in the French top-flight, winning seven of their last eight away matches. They have also scored at least twice in four of their last five away games in Ligue One.

A big positive for the reigning champions heading into this potentially difficult clash is their recent record against the home side. The visitors have won six of their last seven meetings with Monaco, with the weekend draw the only blip in that stellar run of results.

Conclusion

Monaco produced a good display to earn a draw at PSG. However, the Parisians are a winning machine and we believe they will get back to winning ways in this clash. We are also backing this game to produce over 3.5 goals, just as we did last time these two teams met, as both are so dangerous going forward. This could be another highly entertaining encounter.

Verdict: Back the over 3.5 goals at odds of 8/11 and or the PSG win at odds of 2/5. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
