Prediction and odds for the game: Wolves (19/4) v Liverpool (8/13)

We are backing both teams to score

When: Thursday 23rd January 2020, Kick-off 8 PM

Where: Molineux Stadium

On Thursday night, Wolves host Liverpool at Molineux Stadium, as the visitors look to continue their unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Wolves

The home side find themselves well placed to clinch a top-six finish in the Premier League. They could even be outsiders for a top-four finish. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team are sixth-place and just six points outside the top-four with a game in hand.

A surprise win over the league leaders in this clash would put the Midlander’s within touching distance of the Champions League spots.

The home side have not been in great form of late in the top-flight, as a 3-2 win at Southampton, last time out ended a three-game winless run in the Premier League for Santo’s team. The game at St Marys followed a familiar high-scoring trend for Wolves in recent matches, as seven of their last eight matches have produced over 2.5 goals.

The home team have endured an inconsistent recent run of form on home soil of late in the Premier League. However, the team from the Midlands have lost just one of their last eight league matches at Molineux.

Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp’s team are running away with the Premier League title. The Reds are now 14 points clear of second-place Manchester City, who have played two more league matches than the visitors.

A 1-0 home win over Manchester United last time out in the top-flight means the Reds have won their last 13 Premier League games. While Liverpool are renowned for their attacking talents, the visitors have kept seven straight clean sheets in the English top-flight. They have also scored at least twice in 11 of their last 13 league outings.

Unsurprisingly, considering their recent record in the Premier League, Liverpool are unbeaten in 18 away games in the top-flight, having recorded an impressive 14 wins in the process. They have also more recently won five straight away games in the league while keeping three straight clean sheets in the process. At the other end of the pitch, the Reds have also scored at least twice in four of their last five Premier League matches.

The recent history of this fixture favours the visitors, as Liverpool have won three of the last four meetings with the home side in all competitions.

Conclusion

Wolves on their day can give any team a game in the Premier League. This is unlikely to be a comfortable game for the visitors. However, we do believe the visitors will continue their winning run, so we are backing the away win.

Our other recommended bet is for both teams to score. While Liverpool have been solid of late in the top-flight, there were signs of vulnerability against Manchester United last time out. Wolves also possess a big attacking threat, with the likes Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez in good form last time out.

Verdict: Back both teams to score at odds of 4/5 and or the away win at odds of 8/13. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
