Prediction and odds for the game: Leicester (6/4) v Chelsea (17/10)

We are backing the home win

When: Saturday 1st February 2020, Kick-off 12:30 PM

Where: The King Power Stadium

Leicester will look to further cement their place in the Premier League top-four when the Foxes welcome Chelsea to the King Power Stadium in the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday.

Leicester

The Foxes form has dipped slightly of late after a fantastic start to their Premier League campaign. At one point Brendan Rodgers team were the closest team to league leaders Liverpool. However, despite remaining third in the table, they are an incredible 22 points behind Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Even without a realistic title challenge, the home side is still enjoying a very good season. Their priority will now be to ensure they clinch a top-four spot. As they the side from the Midlands are 14 points clear of fifth-place Manchester United that should not be too hard.

One concern of late for Rodgers team has been an inconsistent home record, as the Foxes have won just once in four top-flight outings at the King Power. However, that win was in their last home game in the top-flight against West Ham.

The Foxes leading scorer Jamie Vardy has struggled with injury problems of late. However, the 33-year-old now looks fully-fit. The veteran star has already scored 17 times in the Premier League but has not found the net in his last four top-flight appearances.

Chelsea

Unlike Leicester, Chelsea’s top-four spot does not look as set in stone. A recent inconsistent run of form in which the Blues have won just three times in nine league matches have seen the chasing pack make up ground on Frank Lampard’s team.

In fact, Manchester United, Tottenham and Wolves in fifth, sixth and seventh place respectively are now just six points behind the Blues. The visitors cannot afford many slip-ups in the next few weeks.

The Blues head to the Midlands on the back of just one top-flight win in their last four outings. Last time out in the Premier League ten-man Arsenal held them to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea’s recent away form in the top-flight has been like their general league form of late, inconsistent. The Blues have won two and lost three of their last six matches on their travels in the Premier League. The fact that the visitors have kept just one clean sheet in 12 away games in the top-flight has not helped their chances of picking up away wins.

The Blues are hoping to have first-choice striker Tammy Abraham available. However, the youngster is a fitness doubt due to an ankle problem.

Conclusion

Both these sides head into this match on a mixed run of form in all competitions. However, we are backing Leicester to record a narrow win in a high-scoring encounter at the King Power Stadium.

Verdict: We are backing the home win at odds of 6/4 and/or the over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 4/6. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
