Prediction and odds for the game: Wolves (5/2) vs Leicester (11/10)

We are backing the away win

When: Sunday, 7th February 2021, Kick-off 14:00

Where: Molineux Stadium

On Sunday afternoon, Wolves host Leicester at Molineux Stadium, in a Premier League derby game that could be vital in the visitors outside chances of winning the title.

Wolves

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team have been in poor form of late in the Premier League. The home side have recorded just one win their last nine matches. A 2-1 home win against nine-man Arsenal last time out ended an eight-game winless league run. The win moved Wolves 12 points clear of the Premier League relegation zone, but they are still 14th place in the table.

Their home form has also been inconsistent of late, as they have won one of their last four Premier League matches at the Molineux Stadium. The victory last time out over the Gunners ended a three-game winless run on home soil for the home side. Wolves recent home games in the English top-flight have been high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five games at Molineux.

The home team have a lengthy list of likely absentees, including Raul Jimenez, Jonny, Marcal, Rayan Ait Nouri and Roman Saiss.

Leicester

The visitors recent Premier League form has been inconsistent. A 2-0 win at Fulham last time out ended a two-game winless run in the English top-flight. Despite the slightly poor form of late, the Foxes have still managed to win four of their previous six league matches.

The win kept the Foxes third place in the table, five points off league leaders Manchester City. They are also four points clear of fifth-place West Ham. Brendan Rodgers team look more likely to challenge for the Champions League spots than mount a realistic title tilt this season.

Leicester are six games unbeaten in the Premier League, having recorded four wins in the process. The Foxes have also won eight of their last 11 matches on their travels in the English top-flight. The visitors have been prolific on the road of late in the Premier League, scoring at least two goals in five of their last eight matches away from home.

The Foxes look set to welcome star striker Jamie Vardy back from injury. The veteran star has scored goals and also produced eight assists this season.

Conclusion

Wolves have been in unconvincing form and the two dismissals had a big hand in the win over Arsenal. Meanwhile, Leicester got back to winning ways last time out and the return to fitness of Vardy is a massive boost for the Foxes. We are backing the visitors to record a narrow victory. We don’t believe that this will be a high-scoring clash, so we are backing the under 2.5 goals scored.

Verdict: We are backing the away win at odds of 11/10 and/or under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 8/13. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
