The Premier League clubs with big opportunities in Week 24

The Premier League clubs with big opportunities in Week 24
|

The Premier League rolls on this week for another selection of entertaining fixtures as we continue through the month of February. We’re more than half way through the season now and as things start to take shape, it’ll be very interesting to see how many more twists and turns occur in the weeks to come with so many huge games left to be played.

Today, our aim is to pick out four clubs, in particular, who we believe have a huge opportunity ahead of them in the next few days. They aren’t nailed on to pick up all three points and they may not even be the favourites, but if they can find a way to win, it could be huge for their season.

If you feel like putting some money down on any of the games we’re about to discuss, head on over to the betting page.

Leicester

Leicester City are in the midst of a battle to finish in the top four, and after letting it slipt through their fingers last season, the Foxes are determined to ensure the same thing doesn’t happen again. This weekend they’ll be going head to head with a Liverpool side who, not too long ago, would’ve been viewed as clear favourites to win this game – but that’s no longer the case. If Leicester win this they’ll go six points clear of the Reds which is such an unbelievably huge incentive for a game of this magnitude.

Southampton

Southampton have officially booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, but with their Premier League form being so questionable as of late, they really need a win to ensure they don’t get dragged into the relegation scrap. Thankfully for the Saints their opponents this weekend will be Wolverhampton Wanderers – the same team they’ve just beat in the cup. There’s no guarantee that the same outcome will occur, but they’ve got to be feeling confident.

Leeds

Leeds United’s three wins in their last four Premier League games should ensure survival for another year, but instead of looking to the past, they should be looking ahead to the future. They’ll go one on one with an Arsenal side this weekend who are really struggling for confidence, safe in the knowledge that they have nothing to lose. If they can overcome the Gunners, the prospect of them pushing for a place in the Europa League won’t actually seem all too outrageous.

West Ham

West Ham United are riding high in the Premier League, knowing that they are riding an insane wave of momentum that could take them back into Europe. They may have stumbled against Fulham in their last outing but if there’s one way to get over that disappointment, it’s by proving they can beat the teams scrapping for their lives at the bottom of the table. On Monday Night Football, their big chance to prove themselves will come when they host Sheffield United – a team who simply do not know when to quit.
