Prediction and odds for the game: Tottenham (8/15) vs Everton (5/1)

We are backing Heung-Min Son to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 13/10

When: Monday 7 March 2022, Kick-off 20:00

Where: The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

On Monday night, Tottenham host Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, in a game that could be crucial to both teams’ Premier League campaigns.

Tottenham

Antonio Conte’s team has struggled for consistency of late and last time out exited the FA Cup at the fifth-round stage, suffering an extra time 1-0 defeat by Championship Middlesbrough.

Their recent Premier League form has also been slightly patchy, as the team from north London has won two and lost four of their previous six league games.

Despite their recent mixed form, Tottenham are still just six points adrift of the Champions League spots in the Premier League, with two games in hand on fourth-place Manchester United.

Tottenham’s usually strong home form has dipped in recent times, as Conte’s team has won just one of their last four league matches on home soil. That underwhelming run includes back-to-back home defeats against Southampton and Wolves in the Premier League.

Spurs have lost just one of their last 20 meetings with Everton over 90 minutes. However, the recent record between the two teams is relatively equal, as, in the last six meetings between the pair, both teams have recorded a win apiece with the other four games finishing in draws.

Everton

The Toffees recorded a 2-0 win over National League Boreham Wood on Thursday night to book their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals. Frank Lampard’s team needed the win in truth, as their recent form has been poor, to say the least.

The men from Merseyside go into this clash on the back of seven defeats in their last nine league games. The Toffees have won just once in that run.

However, there were positive signs during their narrow 1-0 home defeat by league leaders Manchester City that things were moving in the right direction. The visitors will need a similar sort of performance in this clash to the one they produced against Pep Guardiola’s team if they are to leave north London with anything from the game as they are just a point clear of the relegation zone.

However, Everton have been simply woeful on their travels, winning just once on their travels in the Premier League this season. In fact, the visitors have lost seven of their last eight away matches in the English top-flight.

Conclusion

Tottenham are just so unpredictable at the moment. One game they can look like world-beaters, then the next they fail to turn up. Everton have shown signs of improvement under Lampard, but their recent results are still a concern.

The home win doesn’t offer great odds, so instead, we are backing Tottenham half-time/full-time, which offers slightly better odds. We are also backing Heung-Min Son to be an anytime goalscorer, as the South Korean star has a nice habit of scoring against the Toffees.

Our Tips: We are backing Tottenham half-time/full-time at odds of 8/5 and/or Heung-Min Son to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 13/10. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
