Prediction and odds for the game: Leeds (17/4) vs Manchester City (2/7)

We are backing Gabriel Jesus to be anytime goalscorer at odds of 6/4

When: Saturday 30 April 2022, Kick-off 17:30

Where: Elland Road

On Saturday evening, Leeds United host Manchester City at Elland Road, in a game that is massive at both ends of the Premier League table.

Leeds

The Whites’ form has improved majorly since the appointment of highly-rated head coach Jesse Marsch. The team from Yorkshire are now five games unbeaten in the Premier League, having previously suffered six straight league defeats. A 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace also saw Leeds keep a second straight clean sheet in the English top-flight.

Despite their recent solid league form, Leeds are still not clear of the spectre of relegation. Marsch’s team are five points clear of 18th place Everton, although the Merseysiders have a game in hand. This game marks the start of a potential difficult run of fixtures, as after this clash the Yorkshire outfit plays Arsenal and Chelsea.

Although Leeds has taken four points from their last two home matches in the Premier League, they have also won just twice in nine league matches at Elland Road.

Manchester City

The reigning English champions are in a major battle to retain their Premier League crown, while also attempting to make the Champions League final. Last time out Pep Guardiola’s team recorded an incredible 4-3 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final first leg.

The victory was their third straight win in all competitions and saw the Citizens score at least three goals for the third consecutive game.

When it comes to the Premier League, City is currently a point ahead of second-place Liverpool in the race to win the English top-flight title. City are unbeaten in the league in seven matches, having recorded five wins and two draws. A 5-1 home win over Watford in their last league game means that City has scored at least two goals in their previous four matches in the Premier League.

Manchester City are unbeaten in their last 15 away games in the Premier League, a run consisting of 12 wins and three draws. Their only away defeat of the season in the English top-flight came on the opening weekend of the campaign, in the shape of a 1-0 loss against Tottenham.

Guardiola’s team has also kept four straight clean sheets in the Premier League while conceding just two goals in their last eight league games on their travels.

Conclusion

The away win looks like the most obvious bet in this clash. However, it doesn’t offer great odds and Leeds may prove to be tougher opposition than expected for City. Instead, we are looking to the goals market for our tips.

The first bet we are backing is Gabriel Jesus to be anytime goalscorer. The Brazilian international has scored five times in his last two appearances for City. We are also taking a punt on under 2.5 goals scored, as City’s recent away games have not been that high-scoring, while Leeds has improved defensively of late.

Our Tips: We are backing Gabriel Jesus to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 6/4 and/or under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 13/8. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
