Signing Malcom would be a coup for Everton

|

According to Sky Sports, Everton are in advanced talks to sign highly-rated Bordeaux winger Malcom in a deal reportedly worth up to £30million.

Reportedly, the youngster has been offered a deal of £80,000 per week on a five-year contract. The Toffees hierarchy are set for a meeting with Bordeaux chairman Stephane Martin on Thursday to discuss completion of the deal.

The Toffees new managerial team of boss Marco Silva and director of football Marcel Brands, have yet to act in the transfer market. However, if the Merseysiders pulled off a deal to sign the Brazilian, then it will be a massive coup.

Malcom is a highly promising youngster

Malcom at just 21-years old is regarded as one of the brightest young attacking players in world football. Having only joined Bordeaux in January 2016, the winger has gone on to impress in Ligue One.

Last season the 21-year-old scored 12 goals and produced seven assists in the French top-flight. The club refused to sell him in January but reportedly told him that he could leave this summer.

The likes of Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester United and Bayern Munich have all been linked with moves for the Brazilian starlet. His dazzling dribbling skills have led to a large list of admirers.

Hopefully, for Everton’s sake, they can pull off one of the most exciting signings of the summer by bringing the youngster to Merseyside.

Everton looking to offload players

While no players have arrived at Everton this summer, Marcel Brands has been busy trying to trim the wage bill before going into the transfer market. Centre-back Ramiro Funes Mori and veteran forward Wayne Rooney have both left the club, which will have freed-up some money for new players to arrive.

However, reportedly the Toffees are looking to offload a few more players in an attempt to save money on wages. In truth, after last summer’s spending splurge, it is not a surprise the Merseysiders are now looking to balance things out.

No doubt the Toffees will bring players in this summer. However, it is only sensible to get rid of some the players who struggled to justify their hefty wages packets last season.

Toffees should be far more attacking in the new season

Last season Everton’s style of football was atrocious towards the end of the campaign under veteran boss Sam Allardyce. The appointment of the former England boss never sat comfortably with most Evertonian’s, for many reasons.

However, the main reason was the style of football he insisted on his team playing. His style of football is in complete contrast to new Toffees boss Marco Silva’s preferred way of playing. The Portuguese boss is renowned for his teams attacking style of play. Everton already has the likes of Theo Walcott, Cenk Tosun, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Ademola Lookman in their squad, who are all exciting attacking options.

Signing Malcom would not only be a significant coup for the Toffees, but it would also mean another exciting attacking player at Marco Silva’s disposal. If the Toffees manage to get this deal over the line, then next season could be exhilarating on the blue half of Merseyside.

Will Malcom be plying his trade at Everton in the new season?
