As we all know Manchester United had a poor campaign in season 2018/19. A brief flourish when boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during his time as interim boss did not last and the Red Devils weaknesses were laid bare.

Reportedly the Norwegian will be a busy man in the transfer market strengthening his squad ahead of the new campaign. United have started their rebuild by agreeing to sign Welsh winger Daniel James. The 21-year-old will join from Swansea for a fee that could rise to £18million.

Here are some of the other players linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer:

Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)

The Wales international has long been linked with a move to the Manchester giants in recent years. Even when he made the then world-record move to Los Blancos in 2014 from Tottenham, United were reportedly in the running to sign the winger.

Now according to the Daily Mirror, the Red Devils are ready to take Bale on-loan for next season. There are few clubs in the world who could pay the Welshman his reported wages of £480,000 per week. However, United are one of them, who favourites to sign the United star.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace)

The young full-back enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at Palace last season. In fact, the 21-year-old was one of the Eagles top performers last season in another difficult campaign.

The youngster’s displays have caught the attention of some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs. The Metro claim that the Red Devils have launched a substantial bid reportedly in the region of £50million for the defender.

With Antonio Valencia departing the club as a free agent this summer, Ashley Young ageing and Diogo Dalot raw, United are in need of a new right-back this summer.

Eric Dier (Tottenham)

The former Sporting Lisbon star was in and out of the Spurs team last season. His place in the England squad is also in doubt because of his lukewarm form when the versatile star did play for the Champions League-finalists.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Dier has become a summer transfer target for the Red Devils. With Spanish defensive midfielder Ander Herrera departing as a free agent this summer, it seems that United believe Dier to be a viable replacement for the former Athletic Bilbao star.

Adrien Rabiot (PSG)

The highly-rated central midfielder is out of contract at the big-spending French club. He is set to leave as a free agent this summer. The French international has endured a difficult relationship with the French club in recent months.

He has been frozen out of the first-team towards the end of the season. Reportedly the midfielders absence was due to his reluctance to sign a contract extension with the club from the French capital. There now seems to be no way back for the midfielder, who made just 14 Ligue One appearances for the French club last season.

The Daily Mirror are reporting that United could make a move to sign the enigmatic midfield star. Premier League rivals Everton are also believed to be monitoring Rabiot’s situation. However, their first-choice midfield target is Andre Gomes, who spent a successful spell on-loan on Merseyside.

Will any of the above players be plying their trade at Manchester United next season?
