Aston Villa have reportedly set their sights on an ambitious summer move for Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker, according to Football Insider. The reigning Premier League champions may be willing to cash in on the England international, who has just 12 months remaining on his current deal.

Aston Villa interested in Walker return

It is a hugely ambitious move by Unai Emery’s European-chasing Villa, as they are targeting one of England’s best right-backs. Walker has been a near-ever present for City throughout this season, as he has played 19 times in the Premier League.

The 32-year-old could be weighing up his options this summer, as his current City deal has just 12 months left to run. A move to Villa could interest the England international, as he previously spent the second half of the 2010-11 season at Villa Park, making 15 appearances and scoring once.

Walker was keen on extending his deal at Villa back in 2011 if his playing time was limited at Tottenham Hotspur, but he was given assurance by Harry Redknapp that he had a part to play at Spurs. Since departing the North London club, the right-back has won eleven major trophies with Manchester City, including four Premier League titles.
