Man United and Inter Milan are set to do battle for the signature of Marcus Thuram this summer, according to reports in The Mirror.

The report claims that Inter Milan currently leads the race, as the Italian giants will be able to offer first-team assurances following the club’s decision not to make a permanent move for Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku.

Thuram is widely regarded as an excellent striker, but he is also comfortable playing on either winger. The 25-year-old was a key part of the France squad at the 2022 World Cup, and he has enjoyed another productive season in the Bundesliga this term.

The Frenchman has played 27 games for Borussia Monchengladbach this term, and has scored 13 goals and registered five assists. A number of Premier League suitors were interested in the forward in January, but an agreement couldn’t be reached.

Thuram will be available on a free transfer this summer after his current deal with Gladbach expires.
