Mason Mount’s move to Liverpool has taken one step closer, according to Guardian journalist Jacob Steinberg.
Due to a lack of form and fitness, Mount’s career has stalled this season at the Blues, and with the 24-year-old’s contract expiring at the end of next season, it is reported that Liverpool, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich are all keen admirers of the England international midfielder.
What’s the latest Mason Mount transfer news?
After a poor season, Mount, who only has three goals from 24 Premier League appearances this season, has been the target of abuse by some Chelsea fans on social media and has lost his regular place in midfield for both his club and country.
New interim Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has, however, in the past been seen as a huge fan of Mount and came to his player’s defense, calling Mount “a top player and a top lad” following his recent return to the squad after an abdominal injury.
