Erik ten Hag has identified a summer transfer for Rasmus Hojlund as a potential solution to Man United’s issues in front of goal, according to The Mirror.

The Red Devils have reportedly moved to the front of the queue in the race to sign the Dane after Real Madrid extended Karim Benzema’s contract for another 12 months.

Hojlund is a Man United supporter

Any deal for the 20-year-old could be made slightly easier based on the fact that Hojlund is a Man United supporter. The Red Devils were rumored to be interested in making a move in January, but lack of finances meant that they were made to settle for a loan deal with Burnley for Wout Weghorst.

Hojlund has enjoyed a fine first season in Serie A this term with Atalanta, as he has scored seven goals and registered two assists in 26 matches. He has also caught the attention during EURO qualification after netting five goals in two matches for Denmark.
