Danish left-back Malte Amundsen has left New York City FC for Columbus Crew.

According to the Athletic journalist Tom Bogert, Amundsen has moved to Ohio in Columbus Crew in order to provide cover for wing-back Will Sands who recently picked up an injury and will cost the Crew a fee of approximately $400,000.

Columbus Crew will look to continue on a decent start to the season which currently sees them in sixth position in the Eastern Conference, just one point behind Amundsen’s now ex-club NYCFC.

MLS transfer news: Amundsen moves from NYCFC to Columbus Crew for $400,000.

Amundsen had recently fallen down the pecking order for Nick Cushing’s side, with on-loan from Real Mallorca signing Brian Cufre taking the Dane’s place at left-back for the Pigeons and was part of the Bronx-based club’s MLS Cup-winning side in 2021.
