Arsenal are set to step up their interest in England and West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Rice tops a list of midfield targets that also includes Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount and Brighton and Hove Albion Moises Caicedo, which Mikel Arteta believes can take the Gunners one step further and take the Premier League title next season.

Arsenal, who currently still top the Premier League table, were humbled 4-1 at the hands of Manchester City on Wednesday, seemingly leaving their title hopes in tatters with City having two games in hand on the Gunners with only two points behind.

Latest Arsenal transfer news: Gunners want Rice

However with Arsenal already clinching Champions League football next year for the first time since 2016, Mikel Arteta will be able to tempt some of the hottest properties in Europe to move to the Emirates Stadium this season and it is believed that England midfielder Rice, 24, fits the bill.

Rice has been in sparkling form recently, with goals against Belgium club Gent, which saw the Hammers proceed to the semi-final of the Europa Conference League, and Bournemouth in a 4-0 rout coming in his last three games for the club.
