Bayern Munich are interested in taking Ollie Watkins from Premier League side Aston Villa this summer.
Watkins, 27, has been in fine form this summer, scoring 14 Premier League goals this season. And according to The Daily Mirror writer Tom Hopkinson, Watkins was being watched by a scout from Bayern Munich in Tuesday night’s 1-0 win against Fulham at Villa Park.
Bayern Munich transfer news: Ollie Watkins on the move to the Allianz Arena?
The England international has been particularly impressive since Spaniard Unai Emery arrived as Aston Villa boss last October from La Liga side Villarreal following the sacking of ex-Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.
This season has seen Watkins’ selfless running now backed up with more goals and the former Brentford man’s performances have alerted the attention of the Bundesliga champions.
However, Emery will want to desperately keep hold of Watkins, who has two years left on his contract at Villa Park, after allowing fellow striker Danny Ings to leave for West Ham in the January transfer window.
