The 24-year-old goalkeeper is prepared to bide his time at the Nou Camp with German goalkeeper Ter Stegen’s place in the team seemingly untouchable at the moment after his best season to date since joining from Borussia Monchengladbach back in 2014.

Pena’s contract extension was announced on Barcelona’s official website and will include a release clause worth almost an incredible $440m.
