Man United appear to be closing in on one of their top summer transfer targets, as reports in The Mirror have claimed that Napoli star Kim Min-Jae has agreed to sign for the Red Devils.

United are willing to meet his $55 million release clause this summer, as Erik ten Hag looks to add another solid option to his defensive line.

Man United edging nearer Min-Jae transfer

Man United have been monitoring Min-Jae’s progression throughout the season, and were heavily linked with a move following the World Cup. However, the Red Devils have opted to wait until the summer when the 26-year-old’s release clause is activated in his deal.

The South Korean has been a standout star for Napoli throughout their title-winning campaign, as he has played 33 times, scoring twice. Min-Jae only signed for the Italian giants in 2022 after a 12-month stay with Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

The central defender was also a standout performer for South Korea at the 2022 World Cup. His biggest assets are his strength and speed, while he also has an excellent ability in the air to score from set pieces.
