Tottenham are preparing a formal approach for Arne Slot, who is in pole position to be the new Spurs head coach.

According to The Athletic’s Jack Pitt Brooke and Charlie Eccleshare, the 44-year-old has not been approached by Chairman Daniel Levy yet but will be soon, and is on top of their wishlist this summer after Julian Nagelsmann reportedly turned the job down.

Eredivisie winner Arne Slot to be offered Tottenham job

When Slot took over Feyenoord in 2021 they had finished 29 points behind champions Ajax but within two years Slot has first been able to guide the Rotterdam-based club to a Europa Conference League final and then a league title this season, only their second since 2000, winning their last 13 league matches in a row.

Slot’s transformation of Feyenoord in 2021, a club down on their luck, has similarities to the position that Tottenham currently find themselves in as they look to stop a rot which currently sees them without a major trophy for 15 years and dropping from a fourth-place finish last season to eighth this campaign.
