Manchester United and Brighton are set to compete for the signature of 23-year-old Italy midfielder Davide Frattesi.
The Sassuolo midfielder has started every match but one this season for the Black and Greens in Serie A this season, scoring seven times. According to the Football Insider, the Red Devils are amongst a number of clubs who have a strong interest in Frattesi who has spent his entire senior career at Sassuolo after impressing in Roma’s youth academy.

Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton and Hove Albion are planning on going toe-to-toe with United for the Italian’s signature and can provide Frattesi the opportunity to play in Europe next season, after sealing a Europa League place on Sunday with a 3-1 win over already relegated south-coast rivals Southampton.
De Zerbi is fully aware of Frattesi’s potential after working together during the Italian manager’s three-year spell at Sassuolo and the Brighton boss is looking for a replacement for Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister, who both look certain to be leaving the club in the summer.
