Manchester United transfer target Kim Min-Jae will cost the club $50m when his release clause becomes active on 1 July.

The Red Devils are keen admirers of the South Korean central defender who has been a star of Napoli’s Serie A title-winning side that sealed their first Scudetto since 1990 with five matches still left to play in the league.

Manchester United turn their attention to Kim Min-Jae

According to the Sun’s Oscar Paul, United are ready to table an offer for Kim with rivals Paris Saint Germain set to hijack a potential deal for the highly-rated defender. City-rivals Manchester City are also reportedly keeping tabs with Kim, who is proving to be a much cheaper alternative to RB Leipzig star Josko Gvardiol.

Kim Min-Jae only joined the Neapolitans last summer from Turkish side Fenerbache for $18m but has quickly become one of the best players in Serie A.

Nicknamed “The Monster”, the South Korean is set to return to his home country next month to carry out obligatory military service.
