Bayern Munich could be set to test the resolve of Manchester City this summer. They have identified Julian Alvarez as a potential target, according to Bild.

The report claims that Thomas Tuchel is preparing for a busy summer at the Allianz Arena, as the club looks set to lose their Bundesliga title this weekend.

Alvarez tops summer transfer targets for Bayern Munich

A new striker tops the list in terms of potential targets for the Bavarian giants this summer, as the addition of Sadio Mane hasn’t worked out as many had hoped.

The reports claim that Alvarez is among the options being assessed, but he is their third choice behind Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kolo Muani and Tottenham’s Harry Kane.

However, Bayern could opt to challenge Man City’s stance on Alvarez, as the Argentinean is unlikely to enjoy significant playing time once again next term behind Erling Haaland.

Despite playing as a back-up option for the Premier League champions, Alvarez has enjoyed an excellent goalscoring campaign. The World Cup winner has netted 14 goals in 42 games across all competitions, with nine goals coming in the Premier League.
