Manchester United captain Harry Maguire will be offered a $12m pay-off if he leaves the club this summer.
Saturday’s FA Cup final against bitter rivals Manchester City is likely to be the last match for the out-of-favor defender who has struggled to find the form he showed at Leicester City that convinced the Red Devils to fork out close to $100m back in 2019.
Harry Maguire set for Old Trafford exit door
The 30-year-old has found himself behind Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, and Victor Lindelof this season under manager Erik Ten Hag and according to Daily Mail writer Chris Wheeler, Maguire has to leave the club if he is to keep his place in the England national team.
Ten Hag spoke about his club captain’s predicament on Monday, admitting that “no one would be happy with this situation- he is not as well”.
Maguire is currently on $235,000 a week currently at United and with two years still left to run on his contract, Old Trafford bosses are prepared to offer Maguire $12m just to get him off their books as it’s anticipated that he would only earn half his current salary at a new club.
