Manchester United back-up goalkeeper Jack Butland is close to completing his move to Scottish giants Rangers.
The 30-year-old moved to Old Trafford in January on loan until the end of the season from Crystal Palace and was given the number 31 shirt, following the departure of Slovakian goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, who was recalled to his parent club Newcastle by manager Eddie Howe.

Butland became the youngest-ever goalkeeper to play for England when he was capped by Roy Hodgson at the age of just 19 against Italy in a friendly back in 2012 but has failed to live up to the potential he showed as a promising youngster and has now been pigeon-holed as a reserve goalkeeper across Premier League clubs.
Butland will hope a move to Scotland can kickstart his career, as it did similarly for fellow ex-England international Joe Hart at Celtic, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the ex-Stoke City keeper’s move to Ibrox edges closer on a free transfer. Once Butland’s move to Rangers is confirmed, United will look to sign a replacement back-up goalkeeper.
