Manchester City will move for RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol if one of their five center-backs departs the club this summer.

Gvardiol, 21, is currently worth around $110m but this is not thought to deter Pep Guardiola who is reportedly a huge fan of the Croat’s versatility, showing himself to be as adept at left back as he is to his more natural central defense role.

Josko Gvardiol ready for move to Premier League giants this summer

According to The Times’ Paul Hirst, Gvardiol is expected to let RB Leipzig bosses know his intention to leave the club this summer following the conclusion of his side’s German Cup final against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

Gvardiol shone in last winter’s World Cup in Qatar, helping his country to an extremely impressive third-placed finish after Croatia beat Morocco in the Bronze Medal match.

City rank Gvardiol as one of the world’s best left-footed center back’s at the moment and are expected to make their move if Aymeric Laporte, who has only started eight league matches for the club since the World Cup, leaves the Etihad Stadium this summer with Premier League rivals Tottenham reportedly interested in the Spanish international.
