Inter Milan have today been rumored with making a move for Chelsea’s 23-year-old English defender Trevor Chalobah.

According to the London Evening Standard’s Dom Smith, the Blues value the defender at around $30m and the Champions League finalists would be willing to part with that amount as current defenders Matteo Darmian, 33, and Francesco Acerbi, 35, enter the twilight of their careers.

Inter Milan want Chelsea’s central defender

Chalobah has appeared in every single Chelsea match since Frank Lampard took over as interim head coach in April but his future under incoming boss Mauricio Pochettino looks less certain, with the former Tottenham manager seemingly more willing to put his faith instead in fellow young English central defender Levi Colwill, who has been marked as not for sale by the Argentinian following a $35m bid from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Chalobah only signed a new deal last November keeping him at Stamford Bridge until 2028 but Inter have not been deterred from pushing to complete a deal, and with the opportunity of regular first-team football, it would not be a surprise if the former England under-21 international was playing in the famous black and blue stripes next season.
