Everton look set to be in the market for a striker this summer, and they could formalize their interest in Man United loan star Wout Weghorst when the transfer window opens.

Erik ten Hag is reportedly not keen on signing the 30-year-old on a permanent deal, meaning that the Dutch international will return to Premier League newcomers Burnley.

Everton express interest in Weghorst move

Weghorst’s time at Old Trafford came to an end over the weekend, as he was unable to make a difference in United’s FA Cup final defeat against Manchester City.

The Dutchman scored just twice in 26 matches for United after arriving on a loan deal in the January window. However, ten Hag isn’t keen on signing the striker permanently, as the Red Devils are searching for an upgrade in the number nine position.

Everton are reportedly the front-runners based on latest reports at TalkSport, as the club look for cover following another injury-impacted season for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
