Manchester United are among the club in Europe interested in making a move for breakout Chicago Fire teenager Brian Gutierrez this summer.
The 19-year-old has burst onto the scene in the MLS this season, and the Fire could be set to listen to offers for the talented U.S. U20 international when the European transfer window opens.
Man United head queue for Gutierrez
The Red Devils appear to be in pole position to make their move for the 19-year-old, with The Mail reporting that United are leading the race to sign the winger.
Gutierrez has already registered four assists in 17 outings in the MLS this term, as has played a regular part for the Fire. Last season, he scored twice and recorded five assists in 33 MLS appearances.
The signing is seen as a long-term option being assessed by the Red Devils, as they would likely need to loan the American back to the Fire, as he isn’t yet eligible for a work permit in Europe.
However, United could take a closer look at the winger over the summer as the club travel to play friendlies in the United States.
