Strong links of the Bundesliga champions making a $100m bid for West Ham captain Rice, however, have added a cloud over Gortetzka’s future in Germany with Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag reportedly in the market for a new central midfielder and a fan of the German, who has a reputation for a rocket shot.
At this stage, there have been no talks or negotiations between the two clubs but with the Rice saga set to run throughout the summer, Goretzka could swap the Bundesliga for the Premier League by 1 September.
