Newcastle United have reportedly stepped up their summer interest in Fenerbahce teenager Arda Guler.

The Magpies have been monitoring the progression of the 18-year-old throughout the season, but FootballInsider is claiming that the club is set to formalize their interest when the transfer window opens.

The latest reports claim that the Magpies have already discussed a potential move with the teenager and his family, with a meeting between the parties taking place in Dubai last month.

Guler has been attracting interest from across Europe this term, and he has already been dubbed the ‘Turkish Messi’. The Magpies set to face a fight to complete the deal, with both Barcelona and Ajax also showing an interest.

Fenerbahce are also keen to keep hold of their star teenager, as he scored four goals and registered three assists in 20 Super Lig outings for the club this season.
