Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku has reportedly turned down an opportunity to move to the Saudi Arabian Pro League.

The Belgian international spent last season on loan at Inter Milan, being a part of the squad that reached the Champions League final.

Romelu Lukaku set to stay in Europe

Lukaku has spent over a decade at the top level of European football and is currently in his second spell at Stamford Bridge having first left for Everton nine years ago.

According to transfer correspondent Fabrizio Romano, Lukaku wants to remain in Europe and has turned down a very lucrative offer to move to Saudi Arabia this summer with the ex-Manchester United forward’s preference being to remain at Inter Milan next season.

Lukaku missed a golden chance in the Nerazzuri’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League final but despite returning to parent club Chelsea, the Belgian is still part of Inter boss Simeone Inzaghi’s short-term plans with fellow strikers Joaquin Correa and Edin Dzeko both expected to leave before the start of next season.
