Paris Saint-Germain want to offload former Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum this summer.

The 32-year-old spent last season in Serie A on loan with Jose Mourinho’s Roma and according to Foot Mercato writer Sebastian Denis, the Dutchman who has suffered a nightmare spell in the French capital will not be short of options.

Ex-Liverpool midfielder destined to leave PSG this summer

Wijnaldum joined the Parisians in 2021 when the French champions hijacked the Dutchman’s transfer to Barcelona by offering double the wages. And after a poor season under then-manager Mauricio Pochettino, Wijnaldum was loaned out to the eternal city where after making just one appearance the midfielder broke his leg during a collision in training.

Amid speculation linking him on a return to his homeland this summer, Wijnaldum said to Dutch media following his country’s defeat to Italy in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday: “I’ve read all sorts of things about PSV and Feyenoord over the past few days. I will keep all options open this summer. But a return to the Netherlands is not my first option now.”
