Former Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, and Italy legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has been offered a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League.

The 45-year-old has spent nearly three decades as a professional goalkeeper since making his debut back in 1995 and is currently the captain of his boyhood club Parma, who are in Italy’s second tier- Serie B, with only a hamstring injury limiting Buffon to a very respectable 17 appearances last season.

Veteran Gianluigi Buffon offered shock switch to Saudi Pro League

Buffon still has 12 months left on his deal at the Stadio Ennio Tardini but according to Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport, the keeper may still have one final move left in his legendary career.

The veteran shot-stopper is believed to have been offered a contract from an unnamed team in the burgeoning Saudi Arabia Pro League worth an eye-watering $32m a year as he enters the 28th season of his astonishing career.

If Buffon were to say yes to the move he would join former Juventus teammate and good friend Cristiano Ronaldo in the Gulf State next season.
