Manchester United have submitted a second bid in their pursuit to sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The news was announced exclusively by Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano after Erik Ten Hag’s men made a second bid worth up to $55m for the 27-year-old Cameroonian just a day after their first offer was rejected.

Andre Onana keen on United move

Sources close to the deal say that it would be Onana’s preference to move to Old Trafford this summer but at this stage, the Inter Milan first-choice goalkeeper will not hand in a transfer request to force through a move.

Onana is highly admired by Erik Ten Hag after the pair worked together for four years at Ajax Amsterdam, winning the Eredivisie title on three occasions.

Inter value Onana at around $65m but the cash-strapped club may be forced into a sale this summer as they aim to revamp their own squad in order to improve on their third-place finish last term.

According to Romano, the two clubs may have to meet in the middle to complete negotiations for the African star- with $60m expected to be enough to prize Onana away from the San Siro.
