Premier League sides Fulham and Crystal Palace are interested in signing USMNT full-back Sergino Dest from Barcelona.

According to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, the USMNT star is not in manager Xavi Hernandez’s plans next season as the club looks to sell unwanted players to raise funds for new players.

If Dest were to make the move to Craven Cottage, he would be the third American defender in the Cottagers squad alongside the club’s vice-captain Tim Ream and left-back Antonee Robinson who enjoyed an impressive campaign last term.

Dest spent last season on loan in Italy with AC Milan but the move was a spectacular failure with the 22-year-old only making eight league appearances and failing to appear for the Rossoneri after January.

Last summer it was reported that Manchester United had shown an interest in the attack-minded defender but Dest’s lack of form over the past two years will likely put the Red Devils off a potential move this time around.
