Manchester City have taken one step closer to signing young central defender Harrison Parker from bitter rivals Manchester United.

The 16-year-old is believed to have preferred a move to the Cityzens rather than stay at the Red Devils who had offered Parker a lucrative deal to stay at the club.

Parker is set to follow in the footsteps of a small list of players, which also includes Carlos Tevez, who have crossed the divide in Manchester and according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the right-footed center-half is expected to sign a long-term contract at the Etihad Stadium ahead rejecting advances from four other top clubs.

The news comes just weeks after the Red Devils attempted to sign 16-year-old twins Jack and Tyler Fletcher from City’s youth academy- the sons of former United star Darren Fletcher.
