MLS outfit Charlotte FC have signed attacking midfielder Brecht Dejaegere on a two-year deal from French club Toulouse.

The 32-year-old brings with him a wealth of experience to the North Carolina outfit and is coming off the back of captaining Les Violets to a Coupe de France victory last season.

Brecht Dejaegere signs for The Crown

Belgian Dejaegere was an ever-present for Le Tefece in their first season back in Ligue 1 following promotion and led his side to an extremely convincing 5-1 win in last season’s French Cup final over Nantes in front of almost 80,000 spectators at Stade de France.

The former KAA Gent player has also played in the UEFA Champions League after helping The Buffalos to their first-ever Belgian First Division title in 2015 and according to the club’s official website, Dejaegere will occupy a spot as an international player for Charlotte in their squad for this season as The Crown continue to hunt down a Wild Card spot.
