Manchester United have reportedly edged closer to landing one of their top summer transfer targets, as the Red Devils and Inter Milan are ‘close’ to agreeing a fee for Andre Onana.

The latest reports from Fabrizio Romano have claimed that it is now a ‘matter of time’ before the agreement is reached. Onana is reportedly ready to travel to Manchester to complete medical checks and sign a long-term deal at Old Trafford.

United have stepped up their interest in the goalkeeper after allowing David De Gea’s contract at the club to rundown. An initial agreement was reached to extend the Spaniard’s deal, before United changed the terms of the deal.

Erik ten Hag is a huge factor in the club’s move for Onana, as the two previously worked together during their time at Ajax.

The 27-year-old’s ability to play out from the back also fits the type of goalkeeper that ten Hag is looking to play with.

Inter have been able to raise a considerable profit on the stopper following an excellent campaign, which saw the Italian giants reach the final of the Champions League.
